Prospectus of the Alma Città di Roma. Famous panorama in 12 plates etched in 1765 and published posthumously in 1829 (second state with the addition of the date in the cartouche). Measurement of the engraved part 101 x 254 cm. Specimen colored in watercolor and tempera in good condition. Engraved by Giuseppe Vasi. Painter, draftsman, architect, archaeologist, etching and burin engraver. Born in Corleone (PA) on August 28, 1710, died in Rome on April 16, 1782. After having practiced painting in his country, he came to Rome and was a pupil of Sebastiano Conca, P. L. Ghezzi and Juvara. He acquired a reputation as a skilled engraver and worked for illustrious patrons such as Ferdinand and Charles III of Naples, Benedict XIV. He was an engraver of the court of Naples and made a knight. His engraved works are immortal. He made some paintings visible in Palazzo Farnese and Palazzo di Caprarola. Piranesi was his pupil.
