Born in Corleone (PA) on 28 August 1710, died in Rome on 16 April 1782. After practicing painting in his country, he came to Rome and was a pupil of Sebastiano Conca, P. L. Ghezzi and Juvara. He acquired a reputation as a skilled engraver and worked for illustrious patrons such as Ferdinand and Charles III of Naples, Benedict XIV. He was an engraver of the court of Naples and made a knight. His engraved works of him are immortal. He made some paintings visible in Palazzo Farnese and Palazzo di Caprarola. Piranesi was his pupil.
