Sample in excellent condition, printed on laid paper without watermark. Engraved by Giuseppe Vasi. Painter, draftsman, architect, archaeologist, etching and burin engraver. Born in Corleone (PA) on 28 August 1710, died in Rome on 16 April 1782. After practicing painting in his country, he came to Rome and was a pupil of Sebastiano Conca, P. L. Ghezzi and Juvara. He acquired a reputation as a skilled engraver and worked for illustrious patrons such as Ferdinand and Charles III of Naples, Benedict XIV. He was an engraver of the court of Naples and made a knight. His engraved works of him are immortal. He made some paintings visible in Palazzo Farnese and Palazzo di Caprarola. Piranesi was his pupil.
