A Billiards match. Pouchoir from around 1900. Size 40 x 55 cm. Painted by the famous illustrator Lance Thackeray,
this is the original tempera from which the famous lithographs on the billiard table of 1902 were obtained. Work in good condition, signed lower right. Lot "Lance" Thackeray (1869-1916) was an English illustrator, best known for his comic sports illustrations involving billiards and golf and for his numerous humorous postcards.
