Panoramic view of the Roman Forum taken from the Palatine Hill, from the Capitol to the Basilica of Maxentius. Dedicated to Louis XIV. Sample with reconstructed margins and restored abrasions on the right. Printed on laid paper with watermark. Engraved by Israel Silvestre (Nancy 1621 - Paris 1691). Draftsman and engraver, he was several times in Italy. His engravings are an important source for the topography of France and Italy of his time. He was influenced by S. Della Bella and J. Callot, and was also a printer of their copper engravings.
