Novissima et accuratissima delineatio Romae veteris et novae. Detailed plan of Rome engraved in copper in 1710. Measurement of the engraved part 49.5 x 59 cm. The plan is based on the previous plan of Giovanni Battista Falda, with 464 numbers in captions corresponding to as many places of interest. The allegories of the Church and of Justice are depicted in the upper right corner, and the Papal coat of arms in the upper left. Sample in good condition, printed on laid paper without watermark. Engraved by Peter Vander Aa. He was one of the major European publishers of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, operating from around 1682 in Leiden with his brothers. He translated, among other works, also those of Erasmus of Rotterdam, as the Praise of Folly and published the collections of history and archeology of Johann Georg Graeve and the botanical works of Johan Frederik Gronovius.
