Scenographia Machinae qua Clemente XI Pont. Max. An. D. MDCCV Columna... Wide and uncommon copper engraving of 1762. Measurement of the engraved part 46.5 x 98.7 cm. It depicts the extraction of the Column of Antoninus Pius, found in 1703 near Montecitorio and excavated in 1705 by Carlo Fontana by order of Clement X. The Colonna was never erected and was used to restore the obelisk of Piazza Montecitorio. The base is located in the Vatican Museums. Exemplary extracted from the work of Giovanni Battista Piranesi "The Campo Marzio of Ancient Rome" of 1762; in good condition, printed on laid paper with double circle filigree and lily surmounted by letter B.
