Pompa della solenne Cavalcata e dell'ordine con cui dal Regio Palazzo Farnese... Beautiful and wide copper engraving of 1758. Measurement of the engraved part 41 x 57.5 cm. This spectacular view of the Piazza and Palazzo Farnese was engraved by the Vasi on the occasion of the Cavalcata for the presentation of the Chinea for the feast of Saints Peter and Paul, as a recognition to the King of Sicily, Charles III. Exemplary in excellent condition, with wide margins, printed on laid paper with watermark lily in single circle. Engraved by Giuseppe Vasi. Painter, draftsman, architect, archaeologist, etching and burin engraver. Born in Corleone (PA) on August 28, 1710, died in Rome on April 16, 1782.After having practiced painting in his country, he came to Rome and was a pupil of Sebastiano Conca, P. L. Ghezzi and of Juvara. He acquired fame as a skilled engraver and worked for illustrious protectors such as Ferdinando and Carlo III of Naples, Benedetto XIV. He was engraver of the court of Naples and made a knight. His engraved works are immortal. He performed some paintings visible at Palazzo Farnese and at Palazzo di Caprarola. Piranesi was his student.
