Engraved by Philippe Galle after Abraham Ortelius (also Ortels, Oertel, Orthellius, Latinized as: Abrahamus Ortelius and Italianate in Abraham Ortelius) (Antwerp, April 14, 1528 - Antwerp, 28 June 1598) was a Flemish cartographer. Ortelius was Mercator with the great founder of the Flemish cartography.
