Naples from the Hermitage of San Salvatore Mount Vesuvius. Beautiful outlined 1859. Measuring 32 x 45.5 cm. Shows a view of Naples and the Gulf, taken from Vesuvius. In good condition, signed and dated lower left. Drawn, engraved and watercolored by Achille Vianelli (Porto Maurizio, 21 December 1803 - Benevento, April 2, 1894) was an Italian painter and engraver with French citizenship. In Naples, Achille was immediately intimate Giacinto Gigante with whom he studied the landscape taken from life, attending school for a few months Wolfgang Hüber (a German painter specialist in the recovery of old topographical taste accademizzante) then with Antonie Sminck Pitloo in whose atelier was born in 1820 the School of Posillipo Vianelli which was one of the main representatives.
