St. Luke and St. Mark. Beautiful etching of 1795. Measuring 24.5 x 36.5 cm part engraved. Represents two frescoes in the Church of the Holy Apostles in Naples depicting Saints Luke and Mark, painted by Giovanni Lanfranco. In good condition, small signs of foxing, on laid paper. Published by Jean Claude Richard better known as Abbé de Saint-Non born in 1727 and died in 1791, was a humanist, patron, engraver and French traveler. Following the tradition of foreign travelers in Italy, was particularly impressed by the South Italy, especially from Calabria and Sicily. He wrote an encyclopedia illustrated by him entitled Voyage pittoresque ou des Royaumes Description de Naples et de Sicile.
