Cantatore d'istoria. Pencil and gouache drawing from 1840. Measures 24 x 32 cm. It represents a Neapolitan folk costume, the storyteller. The drawing is in excellent condition, signed by the artist on the lower right. It is presented in a solid cherry frame with a brass plate.
Michela De Vito. Daughter or sister, it is not well known, of Camillo De Vito, a very active gouache painter, mainly representing views and costume scenes of Naples. She was active in Naples in the early decades of the nineteenth century and she was sometimes confused with Michele de Vito.
