Map of Rome . Beautiful copperplate of 1690 ca. Measurement of 48.5 x 62.5 cm part engraved . Is one of the oldest and sought topographic maps of Rome . In good condition , on laid paper without watermark . Exemplary printed posthumously by Pietro Monaco ( 1707-1787 ) . Engraved by Giovanni - Battista Falda . Architect , draftsman and printmaker . Born in Valduggia in 1648 , died in Rome in 1678. It is not known who was his teacher , but his style is very similar to that of Israel Silvestre , which is located in Rome between 1669 and 1678. Rome owns many of his drawings and engravings of churches , gardens , fountains and public buildings , executed with great knowledge of perspective and full of many characters .
