Rome. Beautiful etching of 1580 in aged colors. Measurement of 33.5 x 48.5 cm part engraved . Is the bird's eye view of the city of Rome as it stood at the end of the sixteenth century . In good condition , on laid paper . Engraved by Georg Braun . 1541-1622 . Geographer publisher is best known for the great work : " Civitates orbis terrarum " which he published in collaboration with the cartographer Franz Hogenberg (1535-1590) in Cologne . The six-volume work contains hundreds of views of the city , the first volume was published in 1572 , the last in 1618 .
