Thomas Antoine Jean-Baptiste. Painter and lithographer. Born in Paris on the 31st of October 1791, died in Paris in 1834. Pupil of Francois Andrè Vincent, in 1816 he won 1st prize in a competition for a 5 year sojourn at the French academy in Rome. He stayed there only until December 1818, when he returned to Paris because of family problems . He had the time to write the work that made him famous: “Un anno a Roma e sue vicinanze”.
