Born in Valduggia in 1648, died in Rome in 1678. hi master is unknown, but his style is similar to that of Israel Silvestre, who was in Rome during the period between 1669 and 1678. Rome owns many of his drawings and engravings of churches, gardens, fountains, public buildings, executed with great knowledge of perspective and full of various characters. |

| Description: Map of Rome. Engraving on copper 1720. Coeval colouring. Cm. 50x58. Giov. Battista Homanno. 1663 – 1724. Engraver and cartographer born in Nuremberg he worked for Sadrart and others and in 1702 he founded a new chalcography. From 1707 (year of the first atlas with 40 maps) to 1724, year in which he died, he published almost 200 maps. He had great influence on cartography because of the beauty and care he put into his work. |
